Emma started making cards and folding books as a hobby after she left teaching to become a full time carer to her son who is autistic. She also works for the Families for Autism Charity based in East Sussex.
Emma decided that she wanted to give back to the charity that had helped support her and her son so she decided start selling her folded books to help raise funds for the charity. In April 2016 Emma launched Behold the Fold and gives 10% of all her orders to the Families for Autism Charity.
Best friends for over 40 years, our company name derives from school nicknames Kael (Jane) and Evs (Sally).
Due to health issues, Sally decided to resign from a high pressured sales job and began crafting as therapy. Shortly thereafter Jane too concluded life is too short and brought forward her plans to relocate from London to Hastings and Kael & Eves Retro Revival was born.
We began working on small items of furniture, bringing them back to enjoy a new lease of life. That lead to commission work for larger pieces which is now our core business. This incoporates both sourcing specific items of furniture for clients and re-loving their own cherished pieces. We work closely with them using a variety of painting, stencilling and decoupage techniques to achieve their perfect finish.
Alongside this we create and treat a variety of smaller homeware pieces such as cake stands, pinnies, trays and picture frames. For this Christmas season we have worked on a wide range of festive items to compliment our primary stock.
Handmade Cards, Gifts and More! We can make bespoke items just for you.
